Years ago, James began exploring suspended or hanging bronzes as a way to transform what seemed to be a heavy relic of the past, stationary bronze sculpture, as a way to enliven the age-old bronze material for a modern age. The sense of lightness they convey is energized by the fact that they are heavy bronze sculptures floating in space.

They were fun to make, to market and to find discerning homes for.

Though mostly sold out, a few copies are still available. The commissioning of new hanging sculpture is, of course, always a possibility.
